Philly ALT.NET Meeting 2007_11_14

Image
The first meeting will focused on the C# open source Castle Project library, and it's MVC framework called Monorail. Monorail is an alternative to the Microsoft Web Forms model, ASP.NET and provides some distinct advantages to working with Web Forms. Monorail's growing popularity was one of the key factors in Microsoft's recent decision to develop their own MVC alternative to Web Forms, which we'll also discuss. The Castle Project also provides many other great tools that can be used separately from Monorail in all types of .NET development, whether ASP.NET , Winforms, etcThe meeting went very well and the presention was on target This was a great kick off to this new group. Very cool technology this really brings the Java and .net world in line with MVC.
